Hi! I am Chanel Toson and I hail from Newport, North Carolina.
I am a double Eagle, having graduated from North Carolina Central University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counseling.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and owner of Creative Touch Counseling Center, LLC. I am a Certified Grief Counseling Professional and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor. I enjoy providing training and supervision for clinical interns and associate level therapists excited about developing their skills in the counseling field. I practice the use of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as a treatment modality while working with Children and Adults. I enjoy providing individual and group counseling, as well as psychoeducation workshops teaching skills for the management of Anxiety, Depression, Grief and loss, Self-esteem, and navigating life’s transitions.
I am a woman of faith!
Love is at the foundation of all that I do as I believe Mark 12:30-31 teaches us clearly- to Love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and also to Love our neighbors as ourselves. In this regard- It is my love, passion and commitment to provide love, care and support to those who are hurting, loss, feeling stuck and dealing with mental anguish. I serve as the Youth Pastor at my church and I’m proud to say that my ministry is far reaching into the community as well!
By nature, I am a natural cheerleader!
My enthusiasm and energy illuminates the room. The clients that I serve receive tangible skills and useful directives they are able to utilize in their everyday living. You too will leave feeling empowered and equipped to address your challenges because you will be heard, validated, and supported in session. With that, you will be able to make healthy changes that will impact all spheres of your life, which is my ultimate goal!
